Polypropylene enters the recycling stream from everyday items such as food containers and bottle caps.
The structure of every RE:WOVEN bag begins with recycled polypropylene.
Recycled polypropylene (PP #5) is transformed into a lightweight, durable woven material that gives RE:WOVEN bags their structure.
Paired with soft, handwoven Pha Khao Ma, the contrast between the two materials became part of the identity of the collection.
Four stages of transformation.
Polypropylene enters the recycling stream from everyday items such as food containers and bottle caps.
The plastic is sorted, cleaned, shredded, and processed into recycled polypropylene pellets.
The pellets are melted and extruded into thin, flexible polypropylene strands. Pigments are introduced to create different colours.
The coloured strands are woven together into durable mats that become the structural base of each RE:WOVEN bag.
The mat provides structure. Pha Khao Ma brings colour, texture, and human variation. Neither material was chosen to disappear behind the other.
